Two doctors of private hospital arrested over fake NOC for organ transplant in Jaipur

Two doctors from a private hospital in Jaipur have been apprehended in connection with a case involving a fabricated NOC for an organ transplant, as stated by the police.

The arrested individuals are Dr. Jitendra Goswami, a nephrologist at Fortis Hospital, Jaipur, and Dr. Sandeep Gupta, a urologist.In response to this incident, the Rajasthan government has promptly taken action. Dr. Rajeev Bagrahatta, who serves as the principal of Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College, and Dr. Achal Sharma, the superintendent of SMS Hospital, have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.

Additionally, Dr. Sudhir Bhandari has been removed from the position of Chairman of the Steering Committee of the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTO). Dr. Bhandari also tendered his resignation as Vice Chancellor of the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) on Thursday. Earlier, on April 1, the Anti-Corruption Bureau detained three individuals for allegedly accepting bribes in exchange for issuing NOCs related to organ transplants.

These accused individuals purportedly engaged in issuing fake NOCs for monetary gains. Consequently, actions have been initiated against several private hospitals in Jaipur.
