Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Applicants should possess a recognized postgraduate medical degree or a Provisional Pass Certificate (MD/MS/DNB) or an equivalent qualification. They must obtain this qualification by April 30, 2025, as specified in Annexure B of the NEET-SS 2024 Information Bulletin.
Authorities will disqualify ineligible candidates at any stage of the NEET-SS 2024 process. If any ineligible candidate appears and succeeds in the exam, their result or candidature will be canceled upon detection of ineligibility.
April 30, 2025, serves as the cutoff date for determining eligibility based on MD/MS/DNB broad specialty or other eligible feeder qualifications.
Candidates who obtain their MD/MS/DNB results after April 30, 2025, cannot apply for NEET-SS 2024. Authorities will reject such requests outright.
Registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council is mandatory. Candidates must present valid documentary proof at the test center on the exam day.
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), can appear for NEET-SS 2024 without NMC registration. However, NMC may grant temporary registration upon payment of the prescribed fee. This temporary registration will remain valid only for the duration of the post-doctoral course at the admitted institution. Additionally, the foreign candidate must hold valid registration with the medical authority in their home country.
Candidates currently pursuing or previously admitted to a doctoral course (DM/MCh/DrNB) through NEET-SS cannot apply for DrNB super-specialty courses via NEET-SS 2024. This restriction applies regardless of resignation or discontinuation.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai, does not consider FCPS qualifications equivalent to MD or MS courses. Therefore, candidates holding an FCPS qualification do not meet the eligibility criteria.
Authorities will issue admit cards on a provisional basis. Appearing for NEET-SS 2024 does not guarantee admission to DM/MCh/DrNB super-specialty courses.
