MP Medical Council Opens Applications for FMG Internship, Clerkship

Madhya Pradesh: The Madhya Pradesh Directorate of Medical Education (MPDME) has announced the commencement of the registration process for the MP Medical Council FMG Clinical Clerkship/Internship Counselling (December 2024). Foreign medical graduates (FMGs) interested in starting their clinical clerkship or internship in Madhya Pradesh must complete the online application form available on the official MPDME website.

As per the schedule, eligible candidates of FMGE Dec 2024 can register online on the MPMC-DME portal. Authorities will consider applications on a pro-rata basis, depending on seat availability in medical colleges across Madhya Pradesh. The MPDME will publish the seat vacancy list on March 10, 2025, and candidates can raise objections against vacancies from respective colleges until March 11, 2025. Following this, the final vacancy list will be published on March 12, 2025, on the official MPDME website.

Foreign medical graduates who have passed the screening test must submit their online applications to the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council. Applicants must complete the form correctly and upload the required documents.

MPDME has also released the guidelines for internship seat allotment for FMGs, as per the National Medical Commission (NMC) regulations.

Allotment Process

  1. Candidates listed in the merit list published by the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council will receive seat allotments.

  2. As per the NMC circular, the process begins with "Group A permitted colleges," followed by "Group B recognized colleges."

  3. Authorities will allocate seats based on merit, choice preferences, and availability.

FMGE-qualified candidates from June 2023, December 2023, and June 2024 who have not secured admission in earlier counselling sessions can participate in the December 2024 session. However, previously admitted candidates cannot participate.

Important Instructions for FMG Candidates

  1. Candidates must report to their allotted colleges as per the schedule.

  2. Selected candidates must join the clinical clerkship/internship program immediately, within the prescribed period, after the final allotment list is uploaded. Failing to do so will result in the seat being marked as vacant.

  3. Candidates must submit all self-attested documents mentioned in the application form, along with the provisional registration receipt, to their allotted college for verification by the Dean's office.

  4. Each candidate must upload a notarized affidavit of undertaking on Rs. 50/- stamp paper in the online application and submit the original to the allotted college.

  5. Candidates who completed their studies online must follow NMC regulations regarding internship duration (1, 2, or 3 years, as applicable).

  6. Selected candidates can download their allotment letter/receipt from the portal after allocation.

  7. Candidates listed in the merit list and who have begun their internship can apply for provisional registration with the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council. The registration process is online.

  8. Applicants should complete the provisional registration process and document verification at the earliest to ensure timely decisions regarding their internship tenure.

For the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council

  1. The Madhya Pradesh Medical Council will review applications and prepare two merit lists based on the NMC circular's criteria. The lists will be published on the council's website.

  2. The merit list will be based on candidates' NBE screening test scores. If multiple candidates have the same score, priority will be given based on:

    • Date of birth (older candidates will be ranked higher).

    • Earlier application submission date.

  3. The authority responsible for the medical college/institute will decide and fix the stipend amount for interns. The Madhya Pradesh Medical Council holds no responsibility for this decision.

  4. If an application does not meet the criteria or if the number of applicants exceeds the available seats, the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council reserves the right to reject applications.

For Allotted Medical Colleges

  1. Candidates must submit their original documents to the Dean of the allotted college/institute. The institute will verify all documents, including the provisional registration receipt, during reporting. If discrepancies arise, the college/institute has the right to refuse the candidate's admission.

  2. The allotted college/institute must collect the original affidavit and self-attested copies of the following documents before a candidate joins:

    • 10th Marksheet

    • 12th Marksheet

    • NMC Eligibility Certificate

    • MBBS Degree or Equivalent

    • FMGE Certificate/Screening Test Passing Certificate

    • MP State Domicile Certificate

    • Original Affidavit

  3. After completing the CRMI (Compulsory Rotatory Medical Internship), the allotted college/institute must provide the candidate with an ongoing internship certificate and a completion certificate.

  4. The allotted college must use its login credentials to mark candidates' acceptance and submit a report to the Registrar, Madhya Pradesh Medical Council, Bhopal, within ten days of receiving the posting order.
