The government postpones Sunday's planned NEET-PG Entrance Exam

The Union Health Ministry announced on Saturday that the NEET-PG entrance examination, originally scheduled for June 23, has been postponed. This decision was made as a "precautionary measure" following recent allegations concerning the integrity of certain competitive exams.

"As a precautionary measure, the NEET-PG entrance examination, scheduled to be held tomorrow—June 23, 2024—has been postponed," the ministry stated. The exam's revised date will be released soon.

The students' discomfort is deeply regretted by the Ministry of Health. This decision has been made in the best interests of the students and to preserve the sanctity of the examination process," the ministry added in a statement.

Reacting to the postponement, Congress leader Pawan Khera criticized the government: "The NEET PG exam, which was supposed to be held tomorrow, has been postponed tonight. This government is failing to conduct exams properly and has lost trust among the youth. Now, the Director General of NTA is being removed by the Education Minister, who four days ago granted the NTA the clean sheet.

Who is responsible for the exams? Who is being protected? When will this investigation occur? When will the government conduct exams properly? These questions remain unanswered."

NSUI president Varun Chaudhary also expressed concern: "The NEET-PG exam has been postponed. Postponing the exam at the last moment causes anger and worry among aspirants about the state of the education system," he told PTI.

The postponement has led to frustration and confusion among students who were preparing for the exam. The ministry assured that the decision aims to uphold the fairness and integrity of the examination process and promised to notify a new date at the earliest.
