NEET PG 2024 is an All- India level annual entrance exam for students who wish to pursue their postgraduation in the field of Medicine. This is exam is a gateway for courses like Doctor of Medicine(MD), Masters of Surgery(MS) and other postgraduate diploma courses in Medicine. This exam stands valid for both government, private and public private partnership colleges across the country. There is a total of 11,000 seats for MS , 20,000 seats for MD and 2000 seats for PGDM.
NEET PG 2024 will be conducted by National Board of Examination in the month of March. And the counselling is conducted by Directorate of General of Health Services. Approximately 2 lakh students appear for this exam every year.

NEET PG 2024 registration starts on 7thJanuary and applicants have to register themselves in the NBE website www.nbe.edu.in . After registering, submitting the application form and payment of application fees ensures completion of the process. Applicants have to fill in all the necessary details like personal details, educational details, uploading photo, left thumb impression and signature and completion of their under graduation internship completion date. Application form filling will be closed by May 2024 .the website gives one more chance of error correction in the forms in the third week of February. Applicants who wish to make corrections will have to pay a correction fee of Rs.1000/-. Admit card will be released on the website on May which will be verified on the exam centre.

General criterias applicable for all applicants:
Syllabus comprises of subjects from the MBBS curriculum which is issued by Graduate Medical Education Regulations . It comprises of subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Pediatrics, Radiology, ENT. The question paper is divided into 3 sections Part A – 50 questions , Part B – 100 questions and Part C -150 questions.
NEET-PG result will be released on the official website in the login page of the applicant on July.The scorecard has to downloaded which will have name, roll no., marks obtained , rank secured, and percentage. The marks obtained is however valid only for that academic year. After declaration of result, merit list is prepared and cut off is decided for that year which is based on the highest merit and total number of applicants. Only those candidates can participate in the counselling process who score above the set cut off score.
The ranking of candidates is done on the basis of cut off and in cases where two or more applicants have the same marks then ranking is done on the below criterias:
NEET PG 2024 Candidates above the cut off marks are allowed to participate in counselling. Total 4 rounds are conducted . Round 1 and 2, mop up round and stray vacancy round. There are two quotas through which candidates can apply for counselling – All India Quota (AIQ)- 50% and State Quota -50%. Counselling process starts with registration on https://www.mcc.nic.in. Next step is choice filling and preferring specialization. At the end of Round 1, seat allotment is done on the basis of availability and merit of the candidate. In case a candidate doesn’t secure a seat then he/she can participate in the further rounds with the same procedure. New registrations are accepted till mop up round but no new registration in the stary vacancy round is accepted. For candidates, who have secured a seat of their choice he/she has to appear for document verification in their nearest document verification centre. After this only a provisional allotment is provided to the candidate. Then the candidate has to report to the college with the provisional allotment letter and the set of documents , pay the academic fees in website and secure admission in the college. Stray vacancy round is conducted only if any seats are vacant. If not, then the counselling ends at mop up round.
