NEET UG 2024 Registration Deadline Extended to March 16; Applications Exceed 25 Lakh

NEET UG Registration Deadline Extended: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has prolonged the online registration window for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET UG 2024) until March 16. Prospective candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply for this crucial medical entrance examination via the official website at exams.nta.ac.in.

Originally slated to close on March 9, the NEET UG 2024 application process has been extended by the testing agency to March 16, 2024, with the deadline set at 10:50 PM. A statement from the official notice asserts, "In solidarity with the student community, the registration for receiving online Application Forms for NEET (UG) - 2024 has been extended."

Scheduled for May 5, 2024, the National Testing Agency will administer the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] – 2024 from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM across the nation and in 14 cities outside India, utilizing a Pen & paper (offline) mode.

Exceeding 25 lakh applications, the registration for NEET UG 2024 has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing the previous year's count by 4.2 lakh, as per a report by TNN. Notably, the report highlights the submission of over 13 lakh applications by female candidates for approximately 2 lakh available seats, which include 1.09 lakh MBBS seats, 26,000 dental seats, in plus seats in the fields of nursing, homeopathy, veterinary medicine, and Ayurveda.

The examination pattern entails 200 multiple-choice questions covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology), with 50 questions allocated to each subject divided into Sections A and B. The exam duration extends to 200 minutes (3 hours and 20 minutes), commencing from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM.

NEET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted in 13 languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
