The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality (NEET SS) is a postgraduate entrance exam for medical super specialities, conducted in a computer-based format over a span of 2.5 hours.
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has recently updated the schedule for NEET SS, with the 2024 exam now planned for January 2025. While an official announcement from the NBE is still pending, a formal notification is expected to be released soon to confirm the exam date.
In a recent meeting documented by the National Medical Commission (NMC) with Dr. Vivek Pandey, a social and political activist, it was indicated that NEET SS 2024 might be cancelled. This potential cancellation is due to the delays in the counselling process for MD/MS and DNB courses in the previous academic year. Nonetheless, it is anticipated that the NBE will announce the NEET SS 2024 exam date in the fourth week of November 2024.
The NEET SS 2024 examination will be conducted online. Aspiring candidates will compete for admission to 2,447 seats across Doctorate of Medicine (DM), Master of Chirurgie (MCh), and DrNB Superspeciality programs available in 156 institutions nationwide.
The application form for NEET SS 2024 will be accessible on the official NBE website (natboard.edu.in). Applicants must complete the registration process, fill out the application form with the required details, upload necessary images, and choose their preferred exam centres.
The exam comprises 13 different groups or super speciality subjects. Candidates must select their respective question paper groups during the application process, ensuring no clashes in exam dates or slots.
