New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a clarification regarding the resignation process for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 seats under Round 1 counselling. The clarification comes in response to queries from candidates who participated in Round 1 but retained their seats during Round 2 of counselling.
In the notice, MCC emphasized that since Round 2 counselling is currently in progress, the rules applicable to Round 2 will govern all candidates, irrespective of their seat allocation in Round 1 or Round 2. Candidates wishing to resign from their seats can do so by forfeiting their security deposit within the stipulated timeframe.
Previously, MCC announced that candidates who want to resign from their Round 1 or Round 2 seats would be allowed to do so. Those interested in this option must submit their resignation by 6:00 PM on December 26, 2024.

According to the MCC All India Quota (AIQ) schedule, Round 2 counselling will conclude on December 22, 2024. Candidates must report to or join their allotted colleges by December 20, 2024.
Following this, data verification by the institutes and MCC's data-sharing process will commence on December 21, 2024, and conclude on December 22, 2024.
