Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University invites applications for the entrance exam for the MSc Nursi

Uttar Pradesh: Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU) will hold the Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) for admission to the M.Sc. Nursing and Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care (NPCC) Course (2 years) for the Academic Session 2024–25. This test is for all government and private nursing colleges affiliated with ABVMU, SGPGIMS Lucknow, KGMU Lucknow, and LLRM Meerut. All admissions to the M.Sc. Nursing and NPCC Course (2 years) in the above-mentioned institutes and universities for the academic session 2024–25 will be conducted through this Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) only. ABVMU has released an information brochure detailing the course. 

According to the information brochure, online application forms for CNET for admission to the M.Sc. Nursing and NPCC Course (2 years) for the academic session 2024–25 are already available on the ABVMU official website.

Applicants should fill out the application form only through the online mode; no application forms will be accepted via post or any other medium. Additionally, only completely filled-out and submitted application forms will be accepted. The CNET will be conducted offline and will be bilingual (English and Hindi) in 19 cities across India.

Examination Fees:

1. Candidates for the entrance test must pay a fee of Rs. 3000 for unreserved or other backward classes (UR/OBC) and Rs. 2000 for SC/ST/PwD.

2. Examination fees should be submitted online after successful online registration.

3. Once submitted, the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable for any other examination.

Admission

1. The selection and allotment of colleges will be strictly based on the M.Sc. Nursing/NPCC Course Common Entrance Test-2024 merit list through counseling only.

2. Candidates who qualify for admission to the M.Sc. Nursing/NPCC Course must deposit the prescribed fee on the date notified by the university. Failure to do so will result in losing their claim for admission to the course.

Eligibility Criteria

Age:

The minimum age for admission is 17 years old on or before December 31, 2024.

Minimum Qualifications for Admission for MSc Nursing (as per INC Regulations):

1. The candidate should be a registered nurse, registered midwife, or equivalent with the State Nursing Registration Council of Uttar Pradesh State (UP Nurses and Midwives Council).

2. If the candidate is a registered nurse, registered midwife, or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council outside Uttar Pradesh state, they will be eligible if their institution or college is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.

3. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Hons. Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

4. A minimum of one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.

5. Minimum one year of work experience prior to or after post-basic B.Sc. nursing.

Minimum Qualifications for Admission to the Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care (NPCC) Nursing Course:

1. The candidate should be a registered nurse, registered midwife, or equivalent with the State Nursing Registration Council of Uttar Pradesh State (UP Nurses and Midwives Council).

2. If the candidate is a registered nurse, registered midwife, or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council outside Uttar Pradesh state, they will be eligible if their institution or college is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.

3. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Hons. Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

Minimum Experience Requirement:

Minimum one year of clinical experience prior to or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, preferably in any critical care setting.

Reservation Policy:

1. Reservations will be as per the state government guidelines under the reservation policy and within the sanctioned number of seats by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) or state government, not exceeding them.

2. Any changes in the reservation policy will be followed according to the directives of the Uttar Pradesh State Government.

3. Reservation for disability (PH): 5% Horizontal reservation will be considered for disabled candidates with a locomotor disability to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremities. Other eligibility criteria regarding qualification will be the same as those prescribed for unreserved (UR) category candidates.

4. Caste certificates issued only by the competent authority (Tehsildar/SDM) of the Uttar Pradesh government are acceptable. These certificates should be verifiable online through an official government portal or website.

5. An EWS quota of 10% may be admissible as per the directives of the U.P. Government from time to time. A valid certificate issued by a competent authority (the Tehsildar or SDM) of the Uttar Pradesh government shall be required for counseling. These certificates should be verifiable online through an official government portal or website.

6. A valid OBC certificate issued only on or after April 1, 2024, will be acceptable.

7. A valid EWS certificate issued only on or after April 1, 2024, will be acceptable.

8. A dependent Freedom Fighter certificate issued by the District Magistrate will be acceptable.

9. A valid ex-serviceman certificate issued by a competent authority will be acceptable.

10. A valid NCC certificate, "C certificate with grade B," issued by the authorized battalion in the prescribed format for NCE will be acceptable.

Important Points

1. PwD candidates seeking admission will undergo a medical examination conducted by a board constituted by government medical colleges and institutions, with 50% of the lower limb considered for assessment.

2. For admission to government nursing colleges, the candidate must be domiciled in Uttar Pradesh. This requires either a domicile certificate of Uttar Pradesh issued by a competent authority or passing 10th and 12th intermediate (10+2) board examinations in Uttar Pradesh.

3. Reservations for Minority Educational Institutions will be in accordance with the norms and directives of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Minimum Qualifying Marks:

The minimum qualifying criteria for the entrance test for admission to B.Sc. Nursing are as follows:


General: 50th percentileGeneral-PwD: 45th percentile
SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile

Instructions to Candidates for Filling Out the Online Application Form:
1. Candidates must carefully read the instructions for filling out the online application form before proceeding.
2. The application shall be submitted only online via the ABVMU official website.
3. No application forms will be accepted via post or any other mode.
4. Candidates must provide accurate information on the application form. Any incorrect or false information found at any stage will result in the cancellation of candidature or admission.
5. Admission to M.Sc. Nursing/NPCC courses will be conducted through CNET 2024.

7. Candidates must ensure that the email address and mobile numbers provided in the online application form belong to them or their parents or guardians only, as all information and communication will be sent to the registered email address and mobile.

8. Registered credentials (email or mobile) and registration ID will be used for all communications and will be required for obtaining the admit card, result, counseling details, allotment letter, admission, etc.

9. Candidates should register using a personal email ID and mobile number only, and their registration number should not be shared with any other person for security purposes.

10. Candidates should note their registration ID and login password.

11. The university disclaims any liability that may arise to a candidate due to incorrect information provided by him or her in his or her online application form.

12. Candidates must check and ensure that all information and details filled in by them are correct.

13. No change in the application form will be possible after final submission.

14. Incomplete applications will be rejected without any further intimation.

15. The examination fee, once deposited, will not be refunded. The fee will not be carried forward to a future examination.

16. An application, once submitted, cannot be withdrawn. Candidates must note that mere deduction of the fee from the bank account is not proof of fee payment. The payment should be supported by a fee payment receipt.

ADMIT CARD

1. The admit card will be available online and can be downloaded through the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, UP, official website.

2. The candidate has to appear for the examination at the allotted center on the date and time indicated in their admit card.

3. The candidate should take a colored printout of the admit card.

4. The candidate may note that the admit card will not be sent by post.

5. In no case would the duplicate admit card for CNET 2024 be issued at the examination center.

6. The candidate must not mutilate the admit card or change any entry made therein.

7. Candidates are advised to preserve their admit card in good condition for future reference.

8. The issue of an admit card, however, shall not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility, which shall be further scrutinized at subsequent stages of the admission process.

9. The candidate will be photographed or videographed along with their admit card at the examination center for verification.

10. The digital format of the admit card will not be accepted at the center. 

11. Other instructions for the entrance test will be printed on the admit card and should be strictly adhered to.

Meanwhile, if any candidate indulges in any of the unfair means, before or after the examination, he or she will be considered to have used unfair practices and will be booked under an unfair means case. The candidate will be debarred for 3 years in the future and will also be liable to criminal action and/or any other action deemed appropriate. Their result will also be canceled and not  declared. Also, the details of counseling will be available on the university website after the declaration of the result.
