The NTA has evenly spread the top 11,000 ranks for the NEET exam across 800 centers.

The NTA evenly distributed the top 11,000 ranks for the NEET exam across 800 centers. According to officials, only 175 candidates from 12 centers in Patna and eight candidates from two centers in Godhra achieved scores of 640 or higher in the NEET-UG exam. Notably, none of the candidates from the Godhra centers scored above 680, while only 35 candidates from Patna reached this threshold.

Addressing concerns about a "systemic leak," NTA officials emphasized the equitable distribution of top-ranking students, ranging from the top 1,000 to 10,000 ranks, across the 800-plus examination centers. They clarified that an investigated candidate scored 103 out of 720.

"We analyzed scoring patterns for each group of a thousand candidates and their distribution. For instance, the top 1,000 candidates are spread across 800 centers," an official stated. He further debunked allegations of the concentration of top scorers in specific centers, noting that even the top 5,000 candidates were distributed across 780 centers.

Out of 23 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam on May 5, over 13 lakh qualified. Officials argued that if irregularities had occurred, qualification rates in Patna and Godhra would have deviated from national and regional averages.

Concerns also arose over the rise in perfect scores, with 67 candidates scoring 720 marks compared to just seven in the previous four years. Officials retested six candidates who initially scored 720 due to time loss, with five scoring below 720 in the retest conducted on June 23.

These developments unfold amidst ongoing scrutiny and legal challenges regarding the NEET-UG examination's conduct and integrity this year.
