The DCI has set a deadline for dental colleges to upload MDS students' details.

New Delhi: The Deputy Secretary of the Dental Council of India (DCI) has instructed the principals of all dental colleges in India to upload the details of students admitted to MDS/PG Diploma courses for the 2024–25 academic session on the official DCI website.

Mr. Kumar stated in the letter that according to the Counseling Schedule issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the Online Counseling (Allotment Process) for the National Eligibility-Entrance Test (NEET) 50% AIQ and 100% Deemed/Central Universities and State Quota seats for MDS Courses for the 2024 academic year, the MCC has set the last date for joining as September 14, 2024. The academic session for PG courses will commence on August 1, 2024, for the 2024–25 academic year.

The DCI has directed the college authorities of all dental colleges to upload the details of students admitted to MDS/PG Diploma courses for the 2024–25 academic session on the DCI website. They must use their already allotted login credentials and complete the upload on or before September 14, 2024, by 12:00 midnight.

Only the details of students uploaded on the DCI website will be considered. The DCI will not accept student details received in any other format, such as email or hard copy. Therefore, college authorities should not send these details via email, postal mail, or any other mode. Additionally, the DCI will not consider requests for an extension of time to upload student details or any excuses or reasons for technical faults. College authorities must ensure all arrangements are made to complete the task on time, avoiding any litigation and enabling the Council to take necessary action promptly.

1. To ensure the smooth uploading of student details and to avoid unnecessary delays, undue pressure, and technical faults on the network, each dental institution should upload student details gradually. This should be done immediately after each round of counseling, but no later than 12:00 midnight on September 14, 2024. In other words, colleges should not wait until the last moment to upload student details but should upload them after each round of counseling.

2. It has come to the DCI's attention that some dental colleges upload details of students who are not admitted to their college. This prevents the college, where the student has actually taken admission, from uploading the details. Colleges are strictly warned to upload only genuine and bona fide admissions. The concerned college is responsible for providing true, correct, and authentic information. If any wrong or incorrect information is provided, the DCI may initiate action against or penalize the college.

3. Only the student details uploaded on the DCI portal will be forwarded to the State Dental Councils and Tribunals for adding MDS and PG Diploma qualifications. Furthermore, in case of any difficulty, college authorities may contact the DCI for technical support. All competent authorities are requested to ensure college authorities comply with the above stipulations in totality. This issue has the approval of the competent authority.
