Rajasthan Hospital Gets EC to Establish Medical College in Gujarat

Rajasthan Hospital Gets Kindly Certificate to Set New Medical College in Gujarat Rajasthan Hospital has been handed over the Essentiality Certificate (EC) from the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Gujarat for setting up a medical college in Ahmedabad.

Rajasthan Hospital is being managed by a charitable trust based in Ahmedabad and has already taken the initial steps to create the Gujarat Medical College and Research Center. The trust is also approximately ?100 crore in the construction of a new hospital complex as part of the investment.

Recently, there was a meeting where members of the trust discussed at length ways in which medical education and services in Gujarat could be improved, and thereby made a decision to set up the Gujarat Medical College and Research Centre, which will open with the MBBS first-year intake of 50 students and raise it later to 100.

The MBBS offered by the college will be followed by postgraduate programs such as MD and MS in several years, TOI P.R Kankariya, the chairman of Rajasthan Hospital said. Mahendra Shah, the secretary of Rajasthan Hospital, said that the college will be developed through the Greenfield approach, as registered with the Public Private Partnership (PPP) principles contained in the Gujarat Health Policy - 2016. He confirmed that THEtrusts got the Consent of Affiliation from the Gujarat University.
