Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Launches 58 New Ambulances

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has flagged off 58 new ambulances. This initiative aims to enhance emergency medical services across the state, ensuring timely and efficient care for those in need.

These ambulances are mandated to reach patients within 15 minutes in urban areas and 20 minutes in rural areas, according to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The GPS-enabled ambulances will collaborate with the 'Sadak Surkhya Force' (Road Safety Force) to ensure timely emergency response and provide necessary healthcare facilities, thereby saving lives during emergencies.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that the 58 new ambulances, purchased for Rs 14 crore, are equipped with lifesaving drugs and state-of-the-art equipment. These ambulances will play a crucial role in providing primary treatment and ensuring timely medical intervention to save lives.

The current fleet of ambulances has already made a significant impact, transporting over one lakh patients to hospitals this year. This includes 10,737 heart patients, 28,540 pregnant women, and 80 babies who were safely delivered in ambulances.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that new medical colleges are being established in Hoshiarpur, Sangrur, and Kapurthala. He noted that a positive trend of reverse migration is occurring, with people who had previously migrated abroad now returning to the state.
