PGIMER, Chandigarh Issues Notice for Spot Counselling and Admission in MD/MS Courses for January 2024 Session

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has released a notification regarding spot counselling and admission for MD and MS courses for the January 2024 session.

Scheduled for 29th February 2024, the spot counselling and admission process will occur at the Bhargava Auditorium of the institute. Eligible candidates who have an interest in participating are advised to be present in the auditorium at 09:30 AM on the specified date.

Counselling Procedure

Spot counselling is exclusively for candidates who have qualified for INI-CET January 2024, conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi, and have not secured or accepted any seat in INIs for the January 2024 session. It's crucial to note that no candidate will be entertained for spot counselling after 11:00 AM on 29th February 2024.

Candidates intending to partake in spot counselling must ensure to bring all original documents along with them. Additionally, those who opt for a seat during counselling must join immediately on the same day and submit their original documents. Requests for an extension of joining will not be entertained. Original documents should be submitted along with one set of self-attested photocopies.

The required documents include:

  1. INI-CET (January 2024) Scorecard
  2. Final Registration Slip
  3. Admit Card issued by AIIMS, New Delhi
  4. Mark Sheets of MBBS/1st, 2nd, and 3rd Professional Examinations
  5. MBBS Degree Certificate
  6. Internship Completion Certificate
  7. Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate issued by NMC/State Medical Council
  8. High School/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate
  9. Valid category certificate (if applicable)

Selected candidates will need to deposit a course fee or security deposit of Rs. 4470/- for provisional confirmation of their seat on the spot via debit card.

Key Points to Remember:

  1. Only provisional eligible candidates without any allocated seat are eligible for spot counselling and admission.
  2. Candidates who have previously been allotted a seat and have joined/reported on it are not eligible for spot counselling.
  3. Minimum percentiles in INI-CET January 2024 are applicable for each category.
  4. Foreign Nationals/Bhutanese Nationals seats will not be converted to other categories.
  5. Foreign National/Bhutanese National candidates must register with the National Commission of India before joining MD/MS courses.
  6. Any accumulated seats till the counselling date will be filled, altering the available seat positions indicated in the notice.

Lastly, providing false information during the seat allotment process of INI-CET January will result in the cancellation of candidature and may lead to legal and disciplinary action. Instances of false information include misrepresentation of documents, applying without the required qualifications, falsifying personal information, or any other discrepancies not in accordance with the prospectus or notice.
