NEET MDS Counselling 2024: Reduced Percentile, Special Vacancy Round Announced

New Delhi The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the All India Quota (AIQ) and state schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round of NEET MDS counselling 2024. This follows the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) lowering the qualifying percentile.

In its notice, the MCC states, "MoHFW, in Letter No. V.12025/84/2024-DE dated 17.09.2024, has reduced the qualifying percentile for MDS courses in NEET MDS counseling 2024 by 21.692 across all categories."

The updated schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round is as follows:

Fresh Registration/Payment, Choice Filling & Choice Locking: 14th October 2024 to 16th October 2024 (up to 3:00 PM, server timing). Payment facility available until 6:00 PM on 16th October 2024 (server timing).


Processing of Seat Allotment: 14th October 2024 to 16th October 2024. Choice filling is open from 14th October until 8:00 AM on 17th October 2024. Choice locking is available from 8:00 PM on 16th October until 8:00 AM on 17th October 2024 (server timing).


Publication of Results: 17th October 2024.Reporting at Allotted College: 19th October 2024 to 25th October 2024 (up to 5:00 PM, server timing).

To ensure the schedule is followed, all participating institutes and colleges must treat Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holidays as regular working days due to the limited time for counseling.

The Special Stray Vacancy Round for state counseling will run from October 15 to October 18, with the last date for joining set for October 25.

The notice also clarifies, "Candidates who have already secured a seat or joined through AIQ or state counseling, including private/deemed quota seats, cannot participate in the Special Stray Vacancy Round of MCC."
