Hospitals Rush for NABH Digital Accreditation to Enhance Healthcare Standards

Hospitals are increasingly applying for NABH's digital accreditation, with 300 hospitals having applied so far, reflecting a positive response from the healthcare sector. Rizwan Koita, chairperson of NABH, highlighted that this initiative will help streamline healthcare operations by ensuring that hospitals follow standardized, high-quality procedures. Koita made these remarks during the CII Hospital Tech 2024 summit.

As of Monday, the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) announced that approximately 100 hospitals across India have already received digital health accreditation. This system was developed to evaluate the digital maturity of Indian hospitals.

Launched in 2023, the NABH Digital Health Standards were designed to assess hospitals based on their adoption of advanced healthcare technologies.

The goal is to improve clinical care quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency. The accreditation is expected to enhance patient outcomes by automating complex clinical protocols and guiding healthcare professionals at every stage of care.

The digital health accreditation offers three maturity levels—silver, gold, and platinum—allowing hospitals to be evaluated based on their digital maturity and the integration of technology in their operations.
