Himachal CM Seeks Union Health Minister's Support for Funding 3 Medical Colleges

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu went to the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda seeking his help on the state’s health services development.

Earlier, Minister Nadda met with CM Sukhu in a meeting attended by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur, Principal Secretary Finance Devesh Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar and Resident Commissioner Meera Mohanty.Resident Commissioner Meera Mohanty, Ashutosh Garg is the Private Secretary of Union Health Minister In that particular meeting, Governor Sukhu called upon the Union Minister to provide funds for finalize remaining infrastructure and services at Nahan, Chamba and Hamirpur Medical Colleges.

He added that there was also need for advanced medical equipment in all hospitals across Himachal Pradesh identifying it as one of the ways through which people can find better health care services within state boundaries rather than going outside as per TOI report. Additionally, he touched on shortcomings in medical education in Himachal Pradesh by saying that quality of education given to students was deficient.

Moreover, he asked for support towards securing placements abroad for the nursing students studying in HP state.Currently however, while appealing out there it was shown how committed is Himachal Pradesh Government in regard to improving health sector especially through enhanced infrastructural development
