Gujarat: The Director of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Gujarat, invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to government seats, management seats, and NRI seats in MDS courses at government and self-financed dental colleges for the academic year 2024–25.
Candidates who qualify for NEET-MDS 2024 are eligible to apply for admission to government seats, management seats, and NRI seats in MDS courses at government and self-financed dental colleges in Gujarat, following the state council and admission rules.
DMER Gujarat has issued notices regarding the procedure for online registration, eligibility, and instructions for NRI candidates.
Registration for admission to these seats has started today, July 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM and will remain open until July 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM. During registration, candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 3000 and a refundable security deposit of Rs. 25,000, totaling Rs. 28,000. Meanwhile, after completing the online application, NRI candidates must submit a non-refundable demand draft of Rs. 25,000/- in favor of "ACPUGMEC," payable at Gandhinagar, as a processing fee at the offices of ACPUGMEC and ACPPGMEC, GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar only. Document verification and submission will occur solely at the Office of ACPPGMEC, GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar.
Additionally, candidates must schedule an appointment for document verification and submission of photocopies at the Gujarat DMER Help Center. During the registration slip printing, candidates can choose the date, time, and Help Center for document verification.
Procedure for Online Registration
1. Purchase a PIN online from the website by paying Rs. 3000/- (non-refundable) + Rs. 25,000/- (refundable security deposit), totaling Rs. 28,000/-.
2. Candidates who have qualified for NEET-MDS of the current academic year and are eligible as per Gujarat State admission rules must visit the website for online form registration from anywhere with internet access.
3. To register online, click on "Medical, Dental, or CPS diploma" under "Post Graduate Admission." This action will prompt a new window to appear on your computer screen.
4. Click the "Log-in for Post-Graduate Medical Admission" button. A new window will appear on the computer screen.
5. Click "Purchase PIN" to buy an online PIN. A new window will appear on the computer screen. Read the instructions carefully before purchasing the PIN online from the website. The PIN can be purchased by paying Rs. 3000/- (non-refundable) + Rs. 25,000/- (refundable security deposit), totaling Rs. 28,000/-.
6. Click "Candidate Registration/Login" to start the registration process. A new window will appear on the computer screen.
7. To register as a new candidate, click the "Click here for New Registration" button.
8. Enter the 'Serial number of PIN,' '14-digit PIN,' 'E-mail Address,' 'Mobile No.,' 'Roll No.;(NEET Roll No.),' and 'Captcha Image' in the appropriate boxes. Verify the details and, if correct, click the "SUBMIT" button.Next, the "Online Registration Form" window will be displayed.
9. Fill in personal details in the "Online Registration Form." The 'Serial number of PIN' will appear as the login or user ID. Create a password using 6 to 12 alphanumeric characters, and confirm it in the "Confirm Password" field. Remember this login ID, PIN, and password for future use.
10. Do not share your password or purchased PIN with anyone. Keep your ID, password, and PIN in multiple secure locations, excluding your mobile. Should you misplace your PIN, you can renew it by visiting CCR, GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar, and paying a fee of Rs. 500. Save the PIN until the admission and refund processes are complete.
11. Verify the entries, and if correct, choose the "I Agree" option at the bottom of the form. If selected, click the "SUBMIT" buttonIncomplete fields will be highlighted in red, or a message will be displayed. Complete the missing information and click the "SUBMIT" button.An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
12. Click on "Save Changes." A new window will appear on the computer screen.
13. "Registration Details" will be generated. If corrections are needed, click the "EDIT/CONFIRM APPLICATION" button. The "Online Registration Form" will reappear with the filled-in details, which can be edited. After verifying, no changes will be allowed. Any required changes will be done at the help center before verification. Upload all required documents before confirming the application.
14. Upload documents according to the registration details and category. Upload readable photos in PDF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG format by clicking "Choose file," selecting the photo, clicking "Upload," and your document will be uploaded. To change a photo, click "Delete" and repeat the upload process. Upload all documents one by one, as listed.
15. Make a prior appointment for document verification and submission of photocopies at the Help Center. Select the date and the Help Center for Document Verification while printing the registration slip. Submit "Registration Details" and all relevant original documents and self-attested photocopies at the appointed Help Center.
16. After clicking "Re-Print Registration Slip" or "Registration Details" under the "REGISTRATION DETAILS" button, print the "Registration Details" page.
17. For confirmation of registration at the Help Center, print two copies of the "Registration Details." Attach self-attested copies of all relevant documents. Both the candidate and the parent or guardian must sign the registration details. SC/SEBC/ST/EWS/PwD candidates must submit two copies of the caste certificate, non-creamy layer certificate, and school leaving/transfer certificate.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission in the MDS Course for Academic Year 2024–25
1. The candidate must have completed a recognized BDS course from a university established under any law of the Government of Gujarat and located in the State of Gujarat.
2. The candidate must have completed a recognized BDS course from a university established under any law of the Government of India, located in any state, union territory, or out of India, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria of DCI, New Delhi/Govt. of India. The candidate must have passed the 12th qualifying examination with "B-group" or "AB-group" either from (a) the Gujarat Board or (b) from the Central Board of Secondary Education, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination Board, the International School Board (International Baccalaureate and Cambridge), or the National Institute of Open Schooling, provided the school is located in the state of Gujarat and the candidate was born in Gujarat state or is a domicile of Gujarat state.
3. Completion of a compulsory rotating internship on or before March 31, 2024.
List of Documents Required for Admission Process of ACPPGMEC
1. All years' BDS attempt-wise marksheets.
2. Copy of the NEET-PG (MDS) marksheet for the current academic year.
3. Internship completion certificate dated on or before March 31, 2024.
4. Provisional registration with the State Dental Council or Dental Council of India (for fresh candidates who have just completed their internship) or permanent registration.
5. Documents showing Date and Place of Birth and Indian Citizenship (School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate—compulsory for all candidates, and Birth Certificate/Passport—if birthplace is not mentioned in the School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate).
6. A caste certificate is issued by the competent authorities of Gujarat State only.
7. Non-creamy layer certificate issued by Competent Authorities of Gujarat State only, dated on or after April 1, 2022.
8. EWS certificate issued by Competent Authorities of Gujarat State only, dated on or after April 1, 2022.
9. A disability certificate issued by the competent authority.
10. Copy of passport, if citizenship is dual or foreign.
11. 12th marksheet (for candidates who have completed BDS outside Gujarat).
12. EWS certificate issued by Competent Authorities of Gujarat State only, dated on or after April 1, 2022.
Instructions for NRI Category Students
1. Purchase a PIN online from the website by paying Rs. 3000/- (non-refundable) + Rs. 25,000/- (refundable security deposit), totaling Rs. 28,000/-.
2. Candidates can complete online registration by visiting the website of the admissions committee.
3. Candidates applying under the NRI Quota must confirm their registration through document verification and submission only at the Office of ACPUGMEC/ACPPGMEC, GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar.
4. Candidates must make a prior appointment for document verification and submission of Xerox copies of documents at the Help Center. Candidates can select the date for document verification while printing the registration slip.
6. No application for admission will be considered unless accompanied by notarized copies of the certificates and all necessary documents.
7. Any changes in the documents or examination marks after submitting the application must be promptly reported to the Office of ACPUGMEC/ACPPGMEC, GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar, along with an attested copy. For candidates who completed BDS outside Gujarat (only if their birthplace is outside Gujarat).
8. Admission to NRI quota seats at medical colleges will be finalized based on the merit list as prescribed under the rules.
9. Students admitted to the college will receive a degree from the respective university to which the college is affiliated.
Eligibility Criteria
1. The candidate must be a non-resident Indian (NRI).
2. His or her parents or legal guardian, in the absence of parents, must also be non-resident Indians (NRI).
3. The candidate must complete the internship on or before March 31, 2024.
4. The candidate should have appeared in the NEET-PG examination of the current admission year and must have been declared "qualified."
Merit List
Admission to the Non-Resident Indian seats will be granted by ACPPGMEC based on inter-se merit, determined by the All India Overall Rank in the NEET-PG of the current admission year, among candidates who have applied for admission under the Non-Resident Indian category.
Documents Required
The application will only be accepted if accompanied by duly notarized copies of the following certificates:
a. Demand draft of Rs. 25,000/- payable to ACPUGMEC, Gandhinagar.
b. Print-out of the Online Application.
c. All-year attempt-wise MBBS and BDS mark sheets.
d. Marksheet of NEET-PG for the current admission year.
e. School Leaving Certificate.
f. Internship completion certificate on or before March 31, 2024.
g. Provisional Registration of Gujarat Medical / Dental Council OR Medical / Dental Council of India.
h. Caste Certificate in Case of SC/ST/SEBC Candidate.
i. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for SEBC Candidate, issued on or after April 1, 2022.
j. EWS Certificate for EWS Candidate, issued on or after April 1, 2022.
k.] Color photocopies of the following documents, all of which must be notarized:
i. Passport (notarized color photocopies of all pages, including blank pages) of NRI/NRI Parents.
ii. Visa, resident permit, OCI, or PIO card, as applicable.
iii. Address proof (Indian and foreign).
iv. Undertaking regarding fees from NRI students and parents.
v. Document(s) for Proof of Origin (Citizenship Card, P.R. Card, etc.).
Ensure all documents are duly notarized as specified for the application to be considered complete.
18. The officer at the Help Center will verify the registration details and affix their signature and seal to the candidate's documents. All candidates must verify all original documents at the Help Center and obtain a registration slip, which is essential for further admission processes.
19. All candidates applying for the PwD quota must undergo a disability examination by the Medical Board of ACPUGMEC. Only the disability certificate issued by the Medical Board of ACPUGMEC will be accepted; no other PwD certificates issued by other authorities or hospitals will be entertained.
