During a press conference in Gaya, ahead of the national conference on data-driven governance, NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam highlighted Bihar's progress in basic indicators such as education and health. He noted that several aspirational blocks and districts in the state are on the path to becoming "inspirational" due to improved governance and service delivery.
Subrahmanyam expressed confidence that Bihar will catch up with the rest of the country in the coming years. He praised Bihar for being the first state to implement an AI-driven decision support system, which will aid policymakers and officers in decision-making and training.
The Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD) is at the forefront of this transformation, with the upcoming inauguration of the GenNext Lab.
Subrahmanyam, who will inaugurate the lab, emphasized the importance of aligning governance and policymaking with rapidly changing global realities. He said that citizens demand quick, responsive governance, and embracing new technologies is essential for smarter and forward-thinking governance.
BIPARD is set to revolutionize governance training with the introduction of three pioneering labs. These include:
1. The Bihar Next-Gen Lab, which will use AI to train administrators, support secure data handling, and provide analytical tools for decision-making and policy formulation.
2. Niti Shala, an immersive lab offering simulation technologies for real-world governance scenarios.
3. Viksit Chintan Kaksh, a collaborative space where state officers can engage in discussions to drive policy decisions, supported by advanced communication and data-sharing tools.
These facilities, part of the "deep knowledge and intelligence corridor" within the BIPARD campus, aim to modernize and enhance governance in Bihar.
