AIIMS MBBS Admissions 2024: Eligibility Requirements Fee Structure and Admission Process Process

New Delhi: For this year's MBBS admissions, AIIMS has released a prospectus outlining the eligibility criteria and admission procedure for candidates.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has issued instructions regarding the reporting and admission procedure for candidates allotted to AIIMS-New Delhi based on the results of the 1st round of MBBS seat allotment by MCC for NEET UG 2024. The MCC will announce the result of the 1st round of counseling for NEET UG 2024 on August 23, 2024. AIIMS has also released a prospectus detailing the fees, age limit, and qualifications for admission to the AIIMS MBBS course.

According to the instructions, candidates allotted to AIIMS-New Delhi must report to AIIMS-New Delhi between August 24 and August 29, 2024, to complete the admission process. The instructions include the schedule for graduate counseling activities and a list of documents required for reporting.

The AIIMS Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree spans a minimum of five and a half academic years, which includes one year of compulsory internship.

Graduate counseling activities will begin on August 24, 2024, and continue until September 8, 2024. Below are the detailed activities:

1. Verification and Submission of Original Documents 
   Dates: August 24, 2024, to August 28, 2024 
   Time: 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM (for verification and submission of original documents) 
   Note: Except for GH & Holidays: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

2. Medical Examination and Submission of Academic Fees 
   Date: August 30, 2024 
   Time: Reporting at 8:30 AM 
   Details: The medical examination will be conducted on August 30, 2024. Upon declaration of medical fitness, candidates must pay the requisite academic fee as         outlined in the prospectus.

3. Hostel Accommodation and Submission of Hostel Fees** 
   Date:August 31, 2024 
   Time:After 9:30 AM at the hostel premises 
   Details: After medical fitness is declared, candidates must deposit the required fee for hostel accommodation. Hostel accommodation will be arranged immediately       after fee submission.

4. Orientation Programme 
   Dates:September 2, 2024, to September 8, 2024 
   Details:An orientation program will be held at the conference hall for new students. Attendance is compulsory for all. Regular classes will commence on September       9, 2024.

Candidates must bring the following documents on the day of reporting:

1. Provisional Seat Allotment Letter from MCC.
2. NEET/NTA Scorecard—original print (not a photocopy).
3. NTA Admit Card—original print (not a photocopy).
4. Five passport-sized photographs.
5. Identity Proof(Aadhar Card, Election Card, Passport, or any government-issued photo ID).
6. Certificate of Passing 10+2 or Equivalent Examinations, showing the subjects offered.
7. A certificate from the board showing the date of birth.
8. Certificate/Mark Sheet from the Board showing at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/Persons, 45% for Persons with Benchmark Disability) in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
9. Migration Certificate from the last attended university or board (only for candidates from SC/ST/OBC/EWS/OPH categories).

Candidates who join the MBBS course at AIIMS, New Delhi, will have their original certificates retained by the institute. These certificates will not be returned to the candidates before the completion of the course.

CRITERIA FOR OTHER BACKWARD CLASSES (NON-CREAMY LAYER) [OBC] 
Reservation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates requires a certificate valid for admission to Central Government Institutes, following Government of India rules. The OBC certificates issued from April 1, 2023 (inclusive) up to the start of reporting for Round 1 of the MBBS counseling schedule, as notified by the Medical Counseling Committee, will be considered valid.

CRITERIA FOR SCHEDULED CASTES AND SCHEDULED TRIBES (SC/ST) 
Reservations for SC and ST candidates follow Government of India rules. Applicants must provide the necessary certificate in the format specified.

CRITERIA FOR PERSONS WITH BENCHMARK DISABILITY (PWBD)
According to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, 5% of seats in the annual sanctioned intake capacity will be reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities, based on the merit list of the entrance examination. The specified disabilities listed in the Schedule to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, must be certified by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board of State or Central Government hospitals or institutions. All PWBD candidates will be evaluated by the Medical Board of the Institute to determine eligibility.

CRITERIA FOR ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTIONS (EWS)
For EWS reservations, the certificate must be valid for admission to Central Government Institutes according to Government of India rules. Applicants must provide the necessary certificate in the format specified at the end of the prospectus. The EWS certificates issued from April 1, 2023 (inclusive) up to the start of reporting for Round 1 will be considered valid.

MBBS Admission Eligibility Criteria at AIIMS

To be eligible for admission to the AIIMS MBBS course, candidates must meet the following essential academic qualifications:

1. Academic Qualifications: 
Candidates should have passed the 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE), Intermediate/Pre-Degree in Science, or an equivalent examination from a recognized university or board in any Indian state, with English, physics, chemistry, and biology as subjects. Candidates who have passed the 10+2 level with biology as an additional subject are also eligible for the MBBS Entrance Examination, as per the Hon'ble Delhi High Court Order No. 2341/W/DHC/WRITS/D-1/2019 dated September 24, 2019 in Writ Petition (C) No. 6773/2019.

2. Equivalent Examination Certificate:
If the examination of an Indian or foreign university is considered equivalent to the 12th class under the 10+2 scheme/Intermediate Science examination, candidates must produce a certificate from the concerned Indian university or the Association of Indian Universities confirming this equivalency.

3. Candidates Appearing for Qualifying Examinations: 
Candidates who are currently appearing for the qualifying examination with English, physics, chemistry, and biology as their main subjects and expect to pass with the required percentage of marks are eligible to apply. Their candidacy will be considered only if they provide documentary evidence of having passed the qualifying examination with the required subjects and percentage of marks.

4. Minimum Aggregate Marks: 
   General and OBC candidates must obtain at least 60% aggregate marks.
   SC and ST candidates must obtain at least 50% aggregate marks.
   PWBD candidates must obtain at least 45% aggregate marks. 
   Candidates with CGPA grades must apply the conversion factor as approved by their respective examination board in the application form.

5. Foreign and OCI/NRI Candidates: 
   There is no specific quota for OCI and NRI students at AIIMS.
   Foreign candidates must have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their Intermediate/Pre-Degree in Science     or an equivalent examination to be eligible for admission. Foreign nationals must also clear the NEET exam to be considered for admission to the MBBS course at         AIIMS, New Delhi.

Fee Details for the AIIMS MBBS Course

For admission into the AIIMS MBBS course, candidates are required to pay the following fees:

Indian National Candidates: ?4,228/- 
Foreign National Candidates: ?75,000/- 

The fees are divided into three equal installments, corresponding to the pre-clinical phase, para-clinical phase, and clinical phase of the MBBS course.

Payment should be made through cash, card, or UPI immediately after the candidate is declared medically fit by the Medical Board of the Institute.
