AIIMS Kalyani DM, MCh January 2025 Admissions – Complete Guide

AIIMS Kalyani has announced the opening of admissions for DM and MCh courses for the January 2025 session. The institute has released a prospectus detailing crucial information for prospective candidates, including salary/stipend, leave policies, seat availability, fees, and internal assessments.

Number of Seats Available

The prospectus reveals that there are 8 vacant seats across 8 super specializations in the post-doctoral courses for the January 2025 session. These seats are distributed as follows:

Fee Structure

Salary/Stipend

Selected candidates for the Senior Resident post will receive an emolument as per the Pay Matrix Level 11 (Pre-revised Pay Band-3 Rs. 15600-39100 + 6600 Grade Pay). The entry pay is Rs. 67,700/- per month, along with applicable allowances under the rules or as per the revised pay scale per the 7th CPC.

Sponsored, foreign national, and OCI candidates are not entitled to a salary/stipend from the institute.

Penalty for Withdrawal

If a candidate leaves the DM/MCh course within six months, they must pay a sum of Rs. 3,00,000/- as compensation. If they leave after six months, the compensation increases to Rs. 5,00,000/-. Additionally, the salary for the month in which the resignation is effective will be forfeited. All candidates must submit original certificates upon joining, which will be retained by the Academic Section until the completion of the course unless Rs. 3,00,000/- is deposited.

Internal Assessment

  1. Internal Assessment: Each candidate’s progress, both theoretical and practical, will be evaluated periodically by the department’s faculty. A progress report will be sent annually to the Examination Section, contributing 20% of the final exam marks.
  2. Mandatory Courses: DM/MCh candidates must attend the Research Methodology/Orientation/Foundation course within one year of joining and pass the exit exam to be eligible for the final examination. Additional mandatory courses may be introduced as per the institute’s requirements.

Dissertation Requirements

Each candidate must submit the following:

  1. A dissertation and protocol within four months of registration.
  2. Relaxation of up to two months may be granted by the Dean, depending on the merit of each case.
  3. Proof of research, such as a manuscript of an original article or evidence of published papers in recognized journals, is required.

For DM/MCh candidates, the dissertation must be submitted at least three months prior to the examination, with the protocol due within four months of registration.

The last date for submitting the thesis/dissertation is:

  • 31st August for candidates appearing in the December Examination.
  • 31st January for candidates appearing in the May Examination.
