 AIIMS has begun the open round of counseling for INI CET July 2024, with 636 seats available for candidates. New Delhi- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has started the open round of online seat allotment for admission to postgraduate (PG) courses for the July 2024 session.

AIIMS has released an information brochure detailing the entire allotment process. Additionally, the vacant seat positions for this allotment have also been released.

The registration and exercise of options for the open round of online seat allocation for the Institutes of National Importance Joint Entrance Test (INI-CET) for the July 2024 session began today, July 24, 2024, and will continue until July 30, 2024. Candidates must register online for the open round of seat allocation by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, on the AIIMS official website.

All candidates who have registered for the Open Round of Seat Allocation must complete all necessary formalities and exercise choices by August 30, 2024 (05:00 p.m.). After the final submission or closing date and time, no changes in the order of preference will be allowed. Candidates can make any number of choices, edit the choices, and reorder the choices.

These PG courses for the July 2024 session are available at AIIMS New Delhi, along with other AIIMS institutions, JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru, PGIMER Chandigarh, and SCTIMST Thiruvananthapuram, covering MD, MS, and M.Ch programs. (6 years), DM (6 years), and MDS admissions. The INI-CET for the July 2024 session was conducted on Sunday, May 19, 2024, and its examination centers will be held in all cities across India.

Procedure for Registering for the Open Round of Online Seat Allocation Step

1: Go to the AIIMS official website to register.

2:Select your desired course “[MD/MS.(M.Ch.(6yrs.)/DM(6yrs.)]” or “MDS” under the “Academic Courses” tab, then click on “Registration/Login” under General Links to proceed with the registration. Step

3: Log in by entering your registration ID and password. Step

4: On “My Page,” click on the “Register for Open Round of Seat Allocation” link. 

5: Opt for the choice to register for the Open Round of Seat Allocation.

Candidates who appeared in the INI-CET PG for the July 2024 session held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, and obtained the following percentiles will be provisionally eligible (subject to other criteria) to take part in the Open Round of Seat Allocation:

1. Unreserved (UR)/EWS/Foreign National/OCI: 50th percentile

2. OBC, SC, ST, PwBD, 45th percentile

3. Bhutani National: 45th percentile All provisionally eligible candidates who do not hold any seat by allotment and wish to participate in the Open Round of Seat Allocation must deposit Rs. 3.00 lakh through RTGS/NEFT by 5 PM on August 30, 2024.

Candidates should update the transaction details, including transaction ID/UTR number, date of transaction, name of the bank, and amount of electronic fund transfer, in the online registration form for the Open Round of Seat Allocation, along with a print of the electronic fund transfer.

All candidates who have been allocated a seat in the open round must join the allocated seat at the allotted institute by 5 PM on August 22, 2024. If a candidate does not join the allocated seat, the security deposit of Rs. 3 lakh will be forfeited, and no correspondence will be entertained regarding this matter.

All candidates required to deposit Rs. 3,00,000.00 as security must provide the bank details with a scanned copy of the check for the bank account where the refund (if any) will be credited, as required in the portal. The refund (if any) will be processed after the closure of all processes and verification from all aspects. No correspondence regarding early refunds will be entertained.

Candidates will be allowed to fill out choices for any subject or specialty for which there was any seat published before the 1st round of counseling, irrespective of the published vacancy in the open round, as the vacancy in any subject or specialty may change during allotment for the open round

OBC(NCL)/EWS CANDIDATES

The reserve category status for all OBC/EWS candidates in the Open Round of Seat Allocation will be based on the verification completed prior to the 1st round. of online seat allocation. The OBC/EWS certificate must be valid for admission to a central government institution. The validity of the OBC/EWS certification should be as follows:

1. Date(s) of valid OBC (NCL) certificate: The OBC (NCL) certificates should have been issued between May 20, 2023, and May 19, 2024 (date of exam), both dates inclusive.


2. Date(s) of valid EWS certificate: The EWS certificate must be valid for the financial year 2024-2025 and issued between April 1, 2024, and May 19, 2024 (on or before the date of the exam), both dates inclusive, based on the income of the year 2023-2024.

Candidates availing of constitutional reservation must show valid proof of their claim for a reserved seat at the allocated institute when they deposit original certificates. If they do not possess a valid certificate, their claim for the reserved seat allocated will be nullified. The OBC/EWS certificate must be valid for admission to a central government institution. Candidates must produce a printout of the registration slip and admit card at the time of joining, along with all original certificates and one set of photocopies of certificates.

All certificates, including claims for constitutional reservation, will be subject to verification. A candidacy can be canceled at any stage if any documents are found to be invalid.

Candidates availing of PWBD horizontal reservation must show valid proof of their claim for allocated reserved seats at the reporting INIs when they deposit original certificates. Confirmation of admission shall be subject to verification of disability by the Medical Board of INIs for all candidates (more details will be provided in the result of the open round of seat allocation). If they do not possess a valid certificate, their claim for the reserved seat allocated will be nullified, and they will be eligible to appear further in their respective category (UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) without PWBD reservation, subject to being cut off in the respective category.

UPPER AGE LIMIT

1. NIMHANS, Bengaluru (as of July 1, 2024): The age validation for courses of NIMHANS under INI-CET for the July 2024 session.
For the MD Psychiatry Course:
General/Unreserved Category: 32 Years (Candidates born on or after July 1, 1992 are eligible).
OBC Category: 35 Years (Candidates born on or after July 1, 1989, are eligible.).
SC/ST Category: 37 Years (Candidates born on or after July 1, 1987 are eligible).
Sponsored Category: 45 Years (Candidates born on or after July 1, 1979, are eligible.).For DM (Neurology), M.Ch. Neurosurgery (Post-MBBS Category)

Course, and MD Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation: 

32 years old (candidates born on or after July 1, 1992 are eligible).

2. SCTIMST Trivandrum (as of July 1, 2024): The age validation for courses of SCTIMST under INI-CET for the July 2024 session.
General/Unreserved/OBC/EWS/Sponsored/Foreign National Category: 40 Years (Candidates born on or after July 1, 1984 are eligible).
SC/ST: 45 years (candidates born on or after July 1, 1979 are eligible).

All candidates who have been allocated a seat in any previous round of seat allocation, have joined or reported on the allocated seat as per the procedure of joining, reporting, and holding the seat, and wish to participate in the open round are allowed to participate, subject to the following:

1. If any seat is allocated to them out of choices filled in the open round, the original allocated seat (currently holding) shall be automatically vacated (deemed resignation) during the allocation process, and such seat will be offered to other candidates in the open round in order of merit, subject to rules applicable in respective INIs.
2. All such candidates should be liable to pay a penalty as applicable at their respective INIs and any penalty applicable as per the INI-CET seat allocation rules. In addition, any accrued salary (if any) or stipend will be forfeited.
3. By registering and filling out choices for the open round, all such candidates are deemed to have agreed as above without any separate confirmation or notice.

Any seat in the July 2024 session that falls vacant due to resignation (after joining) will be added during allocation. Any seat that remains unfilled will be converted in the open round. At JIPMER, respective reserve category roster points will be filled by the unreserved candidate if no reserve category candidate is available at the roster point under consideration for allocation.

Meanwhile, as per the vacant seat positions, a total of 636 seats are available for the Open Round of Online Seat Allocation for Admission to PG courses of INIs [MD/MS/DM (6 years)/MCh (6 years)/MDS] for the INI-CET July 2024 session. Below are the detailed vacant seat positions.
