New Delhi: The National Medical Commission's (NMC) Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) has approved the renewal of 106,434 MBBS seats across various medical institutions for this academic year.

On August 16, 2024, the NMC noted that some medical colleges had not submitted the required penalty fees for their renewal permissions for the 2024–2025 academic year. These colleges may face a reduction in MBBS seats for the 2025–2026 academic year, contingent upon the results of their appeals.

Due to the time constraints associated with the appeal process and the commencement of MBBS counseling sessions, the NMC has decided to maintain the existing number of MBBS seats for the 2024-2025 academic year, as approved for 2023-2024.
