NEET PG 2024: More Than 2 Lakh Candidates Sit for Exam; NBEMS Addresses Delays

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Post Graduation (NEET PG) 2024 was conducted on Saturday, February 11, in two shifts. Conducted by the National Examination Board for Medical Sciences (NBEMS), 2,16,136 candidates took part from 416 centers in 170 cities in 31 states

In the first round, 1,07,959 students appeared for the exam out of 1,14,276 registered candidates. Of these, 6,317 did not attend. NBEMS reported that technical issues caused delays of about an hour and 45 minutes at two stations, while delays were less than 30 minutes at three stations

Of the 1,14,264 people registered in the second campaign, 1,08,177 people showed up. There were 6087 absences. The NBEMS noted that one test site was delayed by 55 minutes due to technology, while four sites were delayed by less than 30 minutes, it said on Aug. 11 in a case.

To ensure smooth and secure inspection process, NBEMS established a central command center at its Dwarka office. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the NBEMS team closely monitored the conduct of the study. More than 1,950 independent investigators and 300 flight attendants were employed to oversee the testing at the sites. In addition, eight local commands administered the trial, and NBEMS monitored social media to provide accurate information to participants.

The governing body emphasized that strong security measures and collaborative efforts across agencies ensure the smooth running of the trial and the maintenance of its integrity.

Normalization process

A report from the governing body outlining the proper course of action to correct the results has also been published. The results for each variable will be aggregated as random scores and percentages. Scores are expressed in terms of percentages calculated to the seventeenth decimal place. In a relationship, the decision will follow the process described in the journal. If a resume is not shown, older applicants will have more room.
