MBBS and BDS Admission Notification for Tamil Nadu: Application Guidelines for 2024-2025

For the academic year 2024–2025, the Tamil Nadu government is accepting applications for MBBS and BDS degree programs in government-run medical and dental colleges in the state, as well as ESIC Medical College and K.K. Nagar, Chennai, M.G.R. Medical College, and State Private College

Eligible and eligible candidates have to register online at the official website of TN Medical Selection Committee to participate in the counseling process for allotment of seats. Candidates can apply until 08 August 2024 at 5:00 pm.
The rank list, counselling details, commencement of courses, and closure of admissions will be announced later. Registration is only open to those who appear on the merit list published by the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee.

Tamil Nadu (TN Health) has published a detailed notification for MBBS and BDS admissions. The prospectus contains information on filling up and submitting the online application form, payment methods, discussion schedule, seat categories, payment schedule and more

The circular states that candidates are admitted to MBBS/BDS degree programs in Tamil Nadu government medical and dental colleges. It also states that candidates are offered government seats in self-funded medical and dental colleges. Interested parties should submit their completed online application form to ESIC Medical College, K.K. Nagar, Chennai, after providing the necessary information. The application fee is Rs. 500, and payment must be made online via the website's bank payment feature. An additional non-refundable charge of Rs. 100/-per special category—for ex-servicemen, elite athletes, and children—must be paid through bank payment option by those submitting applications under these categories.


SC, ST (Arunthathiyar), ST candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu are exempted from the application fee. The following are some of the articles presented in the magazine.
Special Section: Seats are allocated to candidates in special categories, including benchmark handicapped, children of sports stars, male veterans, or public school students who qualify for a 7.5% reserve.
Quotas:

State quota - Of the seats allotted by the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Board, 85% are reserved for government medical/medical colleges and 100% for private colleges other than respected universities.
These seats include Government Quota (GQ), Management Quota (MQ), NRI, and NRI Lapsed seats.

All India Quota (AIQ) - 15% of seats are allocated by DGHS/MCC to students from state government colleges across India.

Government Quota - Includes seats in all Government Medical/Dental Colleges and a proportion of seats in Self-Financing Medical/Dental Colleges (50% or more) under Government Quota.

Management Quota - Seats in Self-Financing Medical/Dental Colleges under Management Quota (35% or less). These seats have a higher fee structure compared to GQ seats.

NRI Quota - Seats reserved for NRI candidates in Self-Financing Medical/Dental Colleges (15% of SF college seats).

PwD Quota - 5% of seats are reserved for Persons with Disabilities. Candidates must present a PwD certificate from the Regional Medical Board, RGGGH, Chennai-03.

7.5% Special Preferential Quota - 7.5% of Government seats in Government Colleges and Government seats in Self-Financing Colleges are reserved preferentially for students who have completed their schooling from VI to XII in State Government schools and have qualified NEET-UG 2024.
