IPU CET stands for Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test. Conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University , this is a university level examination, conducted annually in the month of June .This university is the sole body conducting entrance exam for colleges in Delhi. Courses offered through this exam are UG, PG and PhD courses.
There two ways of admission to various courses in the university:
- National Level Examination conducted at all India level or
- Common Entrance Tests (CET) conducted by the University at the state level.
- IPU CET 2024 is generally conducted for Undergraduation courses
- Admission to certain courses Engineering, Management, Law, Computer Application, Medical, Nursing etc. will be based on National Level Engineering Admission Test.
- Admission to law programmes will be conducted on the basis of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)and to MBA programmes through Common Admission Test (CAT).

IPU CET 2024 Eligibility
- Nationality: Indian
- Minimum Academic qualification for Under Graduate course: 12th passed students from any recognized board or NIOS and should qualify the eligible entrance exam.
- Minimum Academic qualification for Post Graduate course:Graduates from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% and should have pursued the entitled subjects in their graduation
- Candidates applying for LL.M : LL.B degree approved from the Bar Council of India and an aggregate of 55% in law degree.
- Age limit for B. Tech course: 18 to 21 years old.
- Age limit for M. Tech course: 21 to 35 years old.
- MBA Age Limit: As per CAT eligibility
- LL.M Age Limit: as per CLAT eligibilty
IPU CET 2024 Registration
IPU CET 2024 Registration will start tentatively in the first week of March, 2024. Applicants who will be able to register themselves in online mode on the official website www.ipu.ac.in . Applicants are advised to read the admission brochure available on the website www.ipu.admissions.nic.in Candidates need to pay the application fee .Incomplete forms will be rejected and no requests will be entertained thereafter.

The IPU CET 2024 Admit Card will be released on the website one or two weeks before the exam date. Exam will be conducted on different dates for different courses. On the date of examination, candidates need to carry their IPU CET 2024 admit card and ID proof to the exam centre.

IPU CET 2024 Cut Off
IPU CET Cut off will be released category-wise for all the programs. Cut-Off will be released separately for All India category, Delhi region and Outside Delhi. The cut-off for IPU CET 2024 is prepared on the basis of
- Merit
- seat availability,
- the total number of candidates,
The merit list is prepared on the basis of score obtained. In cases where scores are same for two candidates then ranking is decided on the following factors :
- Sectional scores in the order of English language and comprehension, numerical ability, reasoning and general awareness
- Having lesser ratio of negative to positive scores.
- Ascending chronological order of date of birth.
IPU CET 2024 Counselling and Rounds
- Candidates need to register themselves for online counselling on the website and pay a counselling fee of Rs.1000/-.
- Then the next step is choice filling. Candidates have to select the course and college according to their preference.
- After the end of Round 1 , seats will be allotted according to the cutoff criteria of the particular college.
- Download the provisional allotment letter and pay a part of the academic fess of the particular institute to confirm admission.
IPU CET 2024 Counselling: Freezing Allotted Seat
- If the candidate wishes to take admission in the college allotted in the 1st Round , then he/she has to “Freeze” the seat on the counselling page.
- If the candidate fails to freeze the seat, then higher preference seat will be allotted in the next round with regard to the availability of seat.
- Retention of the previous choice will not be entertained.
IPU CET 2024 Counselling: Reporting
- After seat allocation of round 1 counselling ,report at university centres along with fee receipt, certificates & documentsrelated to reserved category (if applicable).
- If the candidate fails to appear at the designated university, then the provisional admission will be cancelled and allotted to any other candidate.
- The candidate may also lose the chance to participate in other rounds of counselling except ‘spot counselling’.
- The academicfee for such candidates is non-refundable.
IPU CET 2024 Counselling: Fee Refund/ Withdrawal
- In cases where a candidate does not want participate in other rounds or wishes to withdraw the allocated seat , he/she has to click on the “Withdraw” option in the counselling page.
- After withdrawal, the candidate will not be allowed to take part in the next counselling rounds except ‘spot counselling’. Spot counselling is conducted online after the whole admission process for filling up vacant seats. The participation fee for this round is Rs.500/-.
After the completion of all rounds of counselling , the candidate will be provided the confirmed admission letter from the university.
